Explore the world of pointed pen calligraphy!
This hands-on workshop is specifically designed for beginners and no prior calligraphy experience is required. The evening will include an overview of the essential tools and materials, as well as the basic strokes and construction of lowercase letterforms. Students will receive a name card calligraphed by Joy, as well as a mini supply kit to take home. The supply kit includes a pen holder, pointed nib, small pot of walnut ink, practice paper and exemplars.
As a special bonus, students are invited to submit a page of their practice work to Joy for personal feedback, up to one month following this workshop.

Access: The studio is located on the first floor of the Château St-Ambroise. There are approximately 12 stairs to enter the building.

About the instructor: Joy Vanides Deneen is a calligrapher who specializes in custom calligraphy and freehand engraving for brand activations, PR events, weddings and other special occasions. She is a past president of La Société des calligraphes de Montréal and has worked with clients like Moët & Chandon, Tiktok, L’Oréal and Lexus.
