Atelier Imagine Joy is a calligraphy and design studio, specialized in custom paper goods and hand lettered details for weddings and special occasions.

Owner Joy Deneen is a calligrapher, teacher and writer. She currently serves as president of the board of La Société des calligraphes de Montréal and is also a core contributor for UPPERCASE magazine and Calligrafile.  Her calligraphy has been featured in Better Homes & Gardens, Air Canada enRoute Edition, Elegant Wedding and Mariage Québec, as well as on online publications Style Me Pretty, Wedding Chicks, Ruffled and 100 Layer Cake.

Joy has been drawing ever since she could hold a pencil and is a lifelong bibliophile, often pulling inspiration from her library of children’s books, classic literature and the works of Shakespeare. She finds calligraphy to be the ultimate synthesis of what she loves: language, art and human connection.

Originally from California, Joy graduated from UCLA in 2003 with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Theatre.  She and her husband Michael moved from Los Angeles to Montréal in 2013.
